*Please note: this is copied from the Rev-share forum because I am open to talking with anyone who wants to get involved on a hobby basis as well as those interested in rev-share.*

We are a small team looking to expand as we work on a prototype for a 3D Action/RPG.  So far, we have a writer/designer; producer/animator (me – I fill in elsewhere when I can); and are currently bringing on a hobby blueprint scripter.  We prefer team members looking to join for the long term as we iterate on this toward a planned full game release, but hobbyists looking to just work on a prototype in the shorter term are welcome, too.

About the Project:

·   Developed in Unreal 4
·   Assets created using Maya and zBrush (3DS Max might be an option depending on role/scenario)
·   Epic Steampunk vs Samurai battles.  Pick your side and lead them to victory!
·   Third Person Action RPG (real time action)
·   Unique advanced combat system – different modes allow you to more accurately control your combat, on the fly, within battles.
·   Art style influenced by the God of War series.
·   Final game expected to be released for consoles and PC – The established LLC developing this prototype/game is already licensed for PS4 development and part of the ID@XBOX program.

We are currently looking for:

·   3D Modeler with texturing skills.  We have one character mostly done (high res and proxy done; just need final game ready model), but need someone who is able to model our other characters from start to finish based on detailed biographies and other description documents.  Some hard surface modeling might be needed for a few modular environment assets.

·   C++ Programmer or UE4 Blueprints specialist.  We need help to build our various features in the engine.  We are focusing on the combat system, AI, Inventory, skills trees, and considering local multiplayer for the prototype.  We have more advanced features planned (ie: customization, item creation, morality system, etc.) for further iterations, should you choose to stay with the project beyond the prototype.  Looking for someone with technical knowledge to help us set feature expectations and project the road map more accurately.

 ·   3D Animator with an understanding of implementing animations in Unreal 4 using persona and blend trees.  Rigging/Skinning skills a big plus.  Animators with an interest in quick combat styles of heavy and light attacks with various weapon related special moves, and attack combos are encouraged.  The various cycles will be needed as well, but we’re trying to offset the monotony with creative personable characters to give you a challenge.  Will have opportunity to dabble with VFX if you are interested.

Compensation & other notes:

·   Due to our business relationship with Sony and Microsoft, all team members will be required to sign NDA and will be brought into the project as a “Contractor”.  Contractor status can be re-evaluated upon securing funding based on the finished prototype (as in, if we get money to go full production, we can bring you in as full employee).  I bring this up because I am very aware of the general opinion surrounding NDAs.  You are not alone.

 ·   Contracts will be signed outlining your involvement for your protection and ours, as well as to comply with state employment laws.

 ·   Currently, in prototype stage, these positions are on a hobby basis with the potential and expectation to become revenue share.  We are willing to make arrangements for either a rev-share model, or agree to a set amount to be paid upon successfully funding the project based on the completed prototype.  I am flexible to your preferences, so if you have another idea, I am all ears; we just don’t have any funding yet, and cannot guarantee funding will be acquired in the future.  If you are looking for hobby work only, for exposure, practice, or any other personal reason, we can discuss that as well.

If you have any questions or interest in talking about possibly becoming part of our team, please feel free to shoot me a message.  I’m happy to discuss individual scenarios if you are curious to get involved.  Thanks for reading!
