3DO problems with FBX exported from 3dsmax

Hey there, hope this hasn't already been brought up on the facebook (I don't have a facebook account and wasn't able to easily check it), but I had some serious functionality issues in 3do with both ndo and ddo when using an fbx model exported from 3dsmax.

Refreshing the project would not update the materials in 3do, model, and 3d painting in 3do was severely misaligned -- attempting to mark on most parts of the mesh would have no effect, and marking on the far edges of it would apply distorted marks to distant parts of the mesh.

This, along with some performance issues, was completely resolved by re-exporting my model as a triangulated .obj.

I discovered this in the process of working, so I haven't done any more thorough tests of the cause and can't 100% confirm that the fbx/obj format of the mesh had anything to do with it.

Is this a documented issue, and is there anything I should know about it aside from just using .obj from here on out?
