THE THIRD FLOOR, Inc. is the world’s pre-eminent visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London as well as on location with productions around the world. Since 2004, the studio has helped clients visualize and maximize content by producing computer-animated blueprints, known as “previsualizations”. Recent film and television projects THE THIRD FLOOR has worked on include The Martian, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Marvel’s Ant-Man, San Andreas, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road, Maleficent, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Edge of Tomorrow, Guardians of the Galaxy and Game of Thrones Seasons 4 and 5.
 
THE THIRD FLOOR’s London Office is looking for an experienced, hands-on IT Manager to work in the core of the entertainment industry, on high-profile Feature Films and Virtual & Augmented Reality projects. Responsibilities:
  • Manage the deployment and support of London’s IT infrastructure
  • Work with Systems/IT departments and CTO’s at Framestore & The Third Floor Los Angeles
  • Manage hardware inventories and maintain hardware and software standard consistency between TTFL office and on-site locations
  • Manage and analyse software license deployment, compliance and utilization
  • Manage and ensure data security compliance at home office and off-site locations
  • Manage our network and local/remote user access
  • Manage IT help desk and provide user support via phone, email and in-person at desk-side
  • Manage and delegate IT deployment to remote locations
  • Manage company Editorial and Avid workstations
  • Manage substantial data flow, storage and access
  • Manage, maintain and monitor critical infrastructure systems
  • Report hardware and software utilization/availability weekly to production
  • Facilitate all IT (hardware and software) needs in a timely manner
  • Manage, motivate, train, deploy and prioritize IT technicians and support staff tasks
  • Manage hardware and software vendor relationships in coordination with Framestore Global Head of Systems Support
  • Interact with all levels of management
  • Manage department budget and company IT infrastructure budget
  • Balance priority needs of the Studio with available financial resources
Experience and Qualifications required:
  • Prior hands-on management experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with networking protocols and services, switching (subnets and VLANs), routing and firewalls
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience deploying, managing and operating Enterprise Infrastructure Platforms
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with high performance, highly secure data networks
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience integrating and managing a multi-platform environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of configuration management and deployment tools
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience working within the Animation and/or VFX industry
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience managing IT needs for asset management, data transfer, and cutting edge technologies
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of scripting skills (Python/Powershell)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with IT professionals, senior management, and service users
  • Experience and ability to complete tasks under tight time and fiscal constraints
  • Degree in Computer Science or substantial experience in a similar role
  • Understanding and familiarity with Maya, Adobe After Effects (Creative Cloud), Cinesync and Nuke
  • Understanding of Game Engines desirable
