I reckon Gnomon3d workshop had more character rigging tutes made by Alex Alvarez, but they seem not to be for sale anymore (i'm not too sure why). I'm talking about the awesome character rigging suite

Naaaah! Im not too sure about that. They are still doable in Maya13 and Up. I'm more incline to think it's a marketing decision. I'd like to have the real answer.
Yeah the old Kinematics series is wayyyy out of data. From 2002 or so. I remember in the first one Alex Alverez sitting in front of a giant CRT monitor. You could probably still follow along, but a lot has changed.

On edit: OOh! look a new forum, how do you like it ? so just i don't forget to say something: at the time rigging a zombie like character with an open torso section with a live beating heart and animated skinned flexible interior organs with luminescent back-torch IK chained apparatus is waayyyyy out of data. Have you look at the junk that is available today ? I would call the Gnomon customer service and beg them to sale it to me. Look around if anything close to this is available today.

If i were you, i would spend a few days and do ALL of the free Youtube videos and then look at Gnomon 3d workshop for Maya character rigging
