Anthro Wolf Bust

I've been commissioned to do a simple bust of an anthropomorphic wolf character. This is the character sheet that was given to me.


These are my main references for the head right now.


And this is what I have so far.


I've never tried making anything anthro before so I'm definitely open to advice. The mouth will probably be closed in the final model, and I'll clip away some of the shoulders for a clean bottom to the bust.

It's not bad, but it doesn't really look like the model sheet. Looks more like one of the fursuit head you have in ref. Maybe the client is fine with that though ?

I think you need to work on the transitional anatomy from the head into the torso. It seems too rigid especially from the side view. I think it could help to pull the head forward a little so the neck has a forward angled gesture; this could help the overall flow.

I'm thinking the brow line, in the profile, should be brought forward a fair amount. Are you going to be making the mane/fur? If not, I'd recommend adding some more fluff to the back of the head anyway, it seems a little small/bald to me, but then again I'm no anthro either lol.

I really like the front view, the fluff down the neck makes some nice shapes.

he needs to look more teenager Id say, the mouth/nose area is a lot bigger making him look older than the reference
and i think the emo hair might be important : P

Made the fur less muddy and filled in his bangs with a couple more strands. Client is happy, so now to render out some nice pictures!
