3ds Max Ref Coordinate Gizmo

Hi,

I'm sure that the answer to my problem might be obvious but I'm at a loss right now. Here it is: I'm trying to manipulate my geometry via Vertex in Editable Poly mode so that the Vertex I have selected move parallel with the angle of the Polygon. Unfortunately the Ref Coordinate system doesn't seem to want to help me do that, as my movement Gizmo is locked on a strict X, Y, Z grid.

notice the Gizmo. I've played with the different Ref Coordinate gizmos (Local, World, Working, View) and none provide what I'm looking for. I could always do it manually seeing as how it's such a small deviation, however I was wondering if there is a more refined or precise way of doing it that I'm not aware of?
