need maxscript help - get and set scene explorer docking

greeting, fellow polycounters,
nobody wants to read long stories, so here it goes:
part of my script shall hide everything that is not needed of the gui as long as a checkbutton is pressed.
works like a charm, except for the scene explorer. I can set the position after exiting, but not the docking.
Am I missing something?
I think the sceme explorer is a dotnet window, so maybe the dotnet class and not the scene explorer itself holds that information?
How would I implement that?
