Modo Users! Unable to slice polygon!

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to cut a face that I made from a path using the "Freeze" function.
When I try to use the slice tool on it (Shift-C). I get the error message,
"Unable to Slice Polygon"
Any thoughts on this?

    So i figured out what to do.
    my original thought, was that I had some bad geometry, so with that being said. I ran Mesh cleanup, but i still got the same message. (Unable to slice edge)
    SO, I went ahead and selected the edge around my polygon, to see if there was a problem on it. I moved the edge around, and lo- and behold, there were some extra vertices that apparently Mesh cleanup didnt pick up.
    Went ahead and deleted the vertices, and slice tool worked out great.
    If anyone else has this problem, this is what I did to solve it, hope it helps someone.
    PS I'm new to modo, so if theres anything i should know about this tool that'd be great.

    Yes, it doesn't cut across edges. Now you can rage with the rest of us. :)

    Rage is right, however I am finding it to be an excellent modeling program in spite of its obvious flaws. I like it quite a bit.

    pmiller001, you need to have the polygon selected (3 on the keyboard) for polygon mode, and then you can cut through polys.
