Recommended printer/scanners?

Anyone have any good recomendations?

I don't have any preferences beyond it needing to scan and print. Just wondering what everyone here uses.

I don't think it would have any professional use beyond scanning drawings.

Will you be printing in color? I might be better to get a separate printer and scanner if you are just going to be printing off black and white documents. Laser printer are much cheaper and more reliable in the long term compared to inkjet.

laser printers all the way, I have a HP Color Laserjet CP1518ni and a black and white HP P1102w. I've always been against all in ones, they always seem to break, granted I haven't messed with any since the early 2000's. I just think it's better to have your printer and scanner as separate devices.

I don't even know where you get scanners separate. But if there's a large format one around i'd go for it.

And yeah i agree about inkjet and i was considering just getting a color inkjet HP printer or something. One of my previous jobs was selling HP so I'm familiar with those :P

But yeah i would definitely be printing pictures in color, i'd like to fill up the wall around my work space with ref images

forget about printer scanners all in one unless you need a copy machine. Most scanners will outlast your printer. My Canon scanner - doesn'y need a power supply, only USB, which is nice - must be 17 years old by now. I went through 4 printers during that time. Cheap lasers are great, but eventually they break.

I'm looking to pick up a b&w printer myself soon for document printing. I always heard a toner based printer would be best for this, any recommendations for that side of things?

you can find black and white toner printers for as low as 100 bucks. i saw a samsung one at walmart today. But it's not compact like their old ones and i liked those.
