Macbook Pro for Maya

Hey all,

My desktop is getting harder and harder to lug around so I recently purchased a 2014 Macbook Pro retina 13" to use on the go.
I am interested if this would be an okay machine to use for Maya?
The specs on Autodesk's site say it is on paper, but on other forums (macrumors, apple forums, etc.) people are saying Maya doesnt play well with Macbook pro's.
Any thoughts?

The specs are:
Intel i5 2.8ghz dual core processor
8 GB 1600mhz DDR3
256 GB Flash Memory
Intel Iris Graphics 1GB

I use Maya 2015 on a macbook pro and it works no problem. I use it in Mac OS-X fine (but know that there is no direct-x, so the swanky Maya directx stuff doesn't work). You can always dual boot to windows too.

I've had quite a few problems running Maya on OSX, it suffers some pretty strange bugs. Nothing major, but aneurysm inducing to say the least.

We had some MacBook Pros in the office. Maya seems to run well. But trying to run Unity and Maya at the same time made the fan noise kick in full force. The performance wasn't as good as our FragBoxes, and they were about the same price.

Everyone's on a Fragbox now.

Now that I am installing Maya 2014 I keep getting this "error 110" thing and the License fails to import. What do?

ok fixed it.

Maya seems a bit sluggish when viewing shadows in realtime.
