Terrain Editing Software ?????? PLZ HELP

I am really hoping that one of you guys/gals will know something about this, So at work I am having to edit some terrain based on an outdated DEM (digital elevation model)/height map and make it look like the new area. I am needing to know if anyone knows of any software that can do this process rather quickly. Thanks guys

    World Machine should accept DEM. Not sure how quickly it would help you solve your problem. Depending on how artifacted the terrain data is it might be necessary that you wrap your head around the filters and macros in WM to clean things up.

    Yeah I kept hearing world machine I am currently looking into it hopefully it works
