3DS Max game asset thats multiple parts to Unreal

hey first time starting a thread here, i think this might of been asked before but im not sure. I haver a character thats split into 4 parts, head, torseo, legs and clothes. should i attach all the meshes together? each section has its on map as well.

Im not sure if the uvs will merge and end up using the same map which obviously wont work. but im not sure how it will work in like marmoset or unreal engine.

I know when i import a mesh of multiple parts to Unreal that i can import as one single mesh but then how does the materials work like that?
