The Digital Animation & Visual Effects School at Universal Studios Orlando (The DAVE School) is looking for a SENIOR MODO/ZBrush INSTRUCTOR to teach hard surface and organic modeling and digital sculpting.

Position Title: Instructor
FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt
Reports to: William Vaughan, Academic Director
Hours: 25 hours per week instruction/lab; 15 hours per week for student counseling, assistance and grading, staff meetings, conventions, continuing education, special projects, events, etc.
Schedule changes every three months
Instructors at the DAVE School are selected based on their specific area of expertise and their connection to and understanding of the digital animation and visual effects industry from the inside.Therefore, strong industry experience is required.

Additional Requirements:
•Proficiency with MODO, ZBrush, Photoshop required. (Maya and Nuke knowledge a plus.)
•At least three years’ experience in a prominent position within digital animation, visual effects, Games or a related industry
•At least one year teaching experience; this requirement may also be satisfied by having performed individual training, consulting, etc.
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Self-motivated and creative

Responsibilities:
The Instructor is charged with the training and preparation of students to work in the digital animation and visual effects industry. As this industry is very competitive and requires a highly skilled work force, the Instructor must maintain high standards of performance within the class.

Curriculum
•Assisting with and participating in curriculum design and revision process as required
•Defining course objectives and schedules and assuring that these objectives are being met

Classroom
•Classroom lecturing to students relative to software, theory, history, technique, and aesthetics
•Supervision of students’ lab work
•Project and deadline assignment, assistance, critiquing and grading
•Providing necessary materials and handouts for students
•Testing and grading
•Grade recordkeeping
•Daily attendance reporting
•Classroom control and student discipline
•Fostering a classroom environment that is productive and positive
•Student Support
•Regularly advising students on their progress
•Monitoring potential problems as evidenced by poor attendance, lack of progress or failure to benefit from the program; and reporting them to the School Director
•Monitoring the DAVE School web forum and offering critiques and opinions as appropriate

Personal Development
•Identifying opportunities for continuing education; completing a minimum of eight (8) hours of continuing education units per year and providing supporting documentation
•Staying current with industry trends and tools
•Attending all guest speaker lectures

Other
•Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Academic Director
