Best version of Doom 3?

Seeing this on sale today everywhere, I was going to pick up the BFG edition but started reading that they changed a lot of stuff. Apparently in the original you couldn't have your flashlight out at the same time as your gun, and that was changed. I tend to like difficult games so that's kind of a bad sign. Also the shadows and overall atmosphere were brightened up.

Then again the original's resolution only goes up to 1600 x 1200, and has blurry textures, so I'm confused.

Original is definitely better, you should check out moddb as well, there are some great D3 mods.

Thanks, guess i'll go with the original. Seems like you can mod it enough to be just as good as BFG, and seems like they gimped a bunch of stuff in the BFG version.
