I have mesh in base A pose.
I have several FBX files with matching animations.

I import animation to my scene, and mesh changes pose the the first frame of animation.
Now few questions:
1. How do I get back to base pose ?
2. How do I add more animations, and switch between them ?

IF you're using a rig like biped then it has a separate mode for that called figure mode. This is typically your skin/bind pose. You can also use the copy/paste pose system to copy the skin pose and paste it at any time you need it.

With any other rig you can set the skin pose. While your character is in it's A pose, select all of the bones, hold alt and right click the viewport (brings up the animation quad menu) and choose "Set Skin Pose". Then after import with autokey on you can "Assume Skin Pose" to pop the selected joint(s) back into the skin pose. This is handy while animating to get joints (like hands, arms and legs) back to a shape that is easier to translate.

Thanks it worked. The part about auto-key was especially useful.
