Selection Sets in Softimage to Mudbox?

I'm trying to figure out a way in Softimage to save a "selection set" and transfer that over to Mudbox by doing the send to Mudbox feature. I know Maya can do this by selecting faces and then create a "quick select set". I've tried creating clusters based off of selected faces but it doesn't seem to save the selections. Any other ideas on how to save "selection sets" in Softimage and have it show in Mudbox as well?
