Randomly got inspired at like 4 in the morning and decided to just go for it.

    I definitely like the idea! Think I would prefer the leather handle that the aghanims has over the wood that you currently have planned though.

    I have no problem with Thnk making his own interpretation of the scepter since it's an in-game item and not THAT person's own creation. Plus this one looks much better so far. I don't think 'someone else did this' is a valid reason to stop, if this one turns out better than the one you linked then it deserves to get into the game over that one.

    That item seems to have an interesting new image macro, I hope those one's don't take off!

    I have to agree with Sukotto on this, considering it's not an original concept. If you think you can do better and have more chance of getting something ingame, I don't see why you shouldn't give it a go in this case.

    In any case, it's a really nice sculpt so far, looking forward to seeing the bake.

    Hey guys, thanks for the support. Tbh I had a bit of a rough time falling asleep last night cos a was kind of worried/upset that I might get flamed for "copying somebody's idea" when I did no such thing. I had checked the workshop at 4 a.m. before I started working to make sure there wasn't one already made. By the time the other artist messages me on ploy count at 10 pm to show me the same link Vlad posted, I had already finished making my LOD 1, UV, and had 90% of the texture/materials done. I figured I had already gone to far to just stop so I finished it anyways. I figured that at the end of the day, if people don't like that mine came out a bit after the fist one then just just won't vote for it, and if valve doesn't like it then they just won't accept it.

    I ended up running into some issues with the uploader not recognizing the geometry in the fbx file so I wasn't able to take in game shots last night. But I had already finished the workshop thumbnail and whatnot so I can you you that if you wanna see a bake.

    Baked in xNormal, rendered in Marmoset. Had a bit of trouble cramming it into the poly budget but it came out alright.

    Sadly I won't get a chance to work on it till either really late tonight or most likely tomorrow so ill update the tread then with some more pics and a link to the workshop.

    lol Thanks Ken. I'm pretty happy with how it came out and it seems to be doing fairly well in the workshop so far.
