Highpoly: Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560

Hey everyone!
I'm starting a new project, a lamborghini gallardo! :)
First off, I'm still quite new to highpoly modeling. Not new to 3d, just new to highpoly.
So I need tips and such, especially on triangles in highpoly modeling.
Anyway, here is my ref sheet:

Now here comes the problem/question. I am trying to model the door, which is very simple, but on the same hand very challenging. In the refs, it shows that the door "slots" disappear about mid-way in the door. However, I am trying to find the correct way to model them, and so that the geometry looks good.
This is what I have so far, and am not too happy with it :/

Obviously, the slots do not stop mid-door. It's because I've been using triangles and I have to stretch them out. I know this isn't the correct way, that's why I'm asking if anyone knows how to mode something like this in highpoly.
